Pick, Sip, Repeat: A Day at Harvest Moon Orchard

If autumn had a headquarters, it might just be Harvest Moon Orchard in North Salem. Tucked away at 130 Hardscrabble Road, this family-owned orchard turns into a fall wonderland every September and October, with something for everyone to enjoy.
With more than 30 varieties of apples hanging heavy on the trees—Cortland, Fuji, Gala, Granny Smith, and so many more—you’ll want to come hungry and ready to pick. After filling your bag, take a break with a hayride, wander through the pumpkin patch, or bite into one of their famous warm apple cider donuts. For grown-ups, the orchard’s very own Hardscrabble Cider is on tap at the cider bar.
Weekends are especially lively with Harvest Moon’s Fall Festival, running through October. Expect live music, BBQ lunches, burgers, food vendors, and plenty of apple-and-pumpkin fun. Tickets are $18 online and $20 at the gate. It’s the kind of place where a “quick visit” easily turns into a whole day of wandering, snacking, and soaking up crisp autumn air.
Don’t forget to swing by the farm store, open daily through Christmas, for fresh local produce and seasonal goodies to take home. Whether you’re carving pumpkins, filling a bag with apples, or simply chasing those cozy fall vibes, Harvest Moon makes it easy to fall in love with the season all over again.
